Vacation!

Last weekend the mister and I went up to Destin, Florida with one of my best friends, Tiffany, to visit her husband. Her husband is at Eglin Air Force base for the last of his technical training and we wanted to visit him before they move to Louisiana in June. It was about 7 hours to get there but the time changed to an hour earlier so it seemed shorter. It is so beautiful in the panhandle of Florida, I wish I could have stayed forever. The water is the prettiest water I've seen in Florida and I've lived here my whole life. It also doesn't even seem that salty. I swallowed some accidentally and it didn't make me cringe like normal. If I hadn't forget to apply sunscreen to the tops of my feet (OUCH, STILL!) then I would have stayed at the beach for all of the three days. Here are some pictures from the weekend, I'll post the rest tomorrow!

Recent Reads v2

Hi y'all! I've read three more books since I last posted a recent read (I'm quick, you gotta keep up!). So here's what I've read the past week or so.

If you want to read my first Recent Reads post ever it's right here!

Fifty Shades Darker: Just as good as the first one, just as racy. Definitely wouldn't recommend it if you're younger than ... well I guess I can't really tell you not to read it but if I had a teenage daughter (like, 16 or younger) I would be a little bit appalled if she was reading it. HOWEVER, this book had more of a plot than the first one and was less centered around sex (not completely but I felt like there was more of a story).

Fifty Shades Freed: This one is probably my favorite. I thought this book had the most plot/action/story line and the most character development. I'd definitely recommend reading all three. I know some people have stopped at one but I think it's worth it to get to this one!

In the Woods: I enjoyed this book, it takes a lot for me to not enjoy a book. I thought it was going to be more suspenseful but it was an easy story to guess the ending to. Slow development and it bothered me I never got answers to one of the characters backstory. I hate being left in the dark and not knowing everything. Especially since it was the central theme of the book. I'd recommend it though. I'm going to read her other books from this collection (it's not really a consecutive series but follows different characters from each book, that doesn't make any sense!).

I'm finally starting Jodi Picoult's newest book, The Lone Wolf. She's my absolute favorite author and I love every single one of her books. I'm pretty sure I've read them all but she has so many old ones I really don't know!

Lately In My Life

These are the happenin's as of late in the life of one USE to be overwhelmed but now is ECSTATICLY  free college student :D

Currently reading: In The Woods by Tana French (supposed to be a psychological murder mystery type book, so far no complaints but I'm only on page 60 something!).

Currently liking: Having all the time in the world to lay out by my pool and cuddle with this precious boy.

Currently loving: Living in my maxi dresses. I only have two so far but I've worn the same one three days in a row (don't worry, I only went out in public in it once).

(an awkward "i feel self-conscious about the way my arms look" picture of my dress!)

Currently disliking: The way I feel about my body lately. I've been really self-concious which is a first for me. I never was completely happy with my body but I never felt embarrassed by it either until lately. I've been working out in my pool and stole my mister's bicycle to try to feel better about myself. However, I find it hard to work up the motivation to do things alone plus I have the world's worst snacking addiction.

Currently hoping: To not begin to stress out because I have to work next week and I'm already dreading the drive to and from Tampa twice a week.

Currently debating: I have the option to work part-time helping an autistic girl this summer. I know the girl from high school/church and the pay is REALLY amazing. However, I have to be in Tampa two days a week and I can't quit my job down there or my research positions. And the two days after I'm in Tampa I made my mister request off of work so we could spend them together. So when would I do that? On the weekends? On Monday? That's no time to devote to helping them. It sucks though. I wish I could do everything.

Currently missing: Having my own place. I hated having roommates but at least I could escape my parents for a little bit. Don't get me wrong, I love my parents but now I feel like I have rules and chores again and I'm TWENTY YEARS OLD. But poor .. so I can't afford to move out on my own :(

IT'S SUMMER!

I'M SO EXCITED I FEEL THIS NEEDS TO BE IN ALL CAPS. I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS MOMENT SINCE SCHOOL BEGAN AGAIN IN JANUARY. I FINALLY ESCAPED MY SUCKY APARTMENT, AND BEING BUSY EVERY SINGLE DAY AND I HAVE THREE GLORIOUS MONTHS TO SWIM IN MY POOL, KISS MY KITTY ALL DAY, AND SEE EVERYONE OF MY BEAUTIFUL FRIENDS.

Enough screaming, but I really am so happy. I can already feel my spirits lifting. I had a very big, black cloud following my around for months and I finally feel the sunlight today (figuratively and literally). I spent the last hour in my pool blasting music. A lot of Beach Boys and .. I'm ashamed to admit .. One Direction. I just love their song "What Makes You Beautiful." It makes me feel good about myself! Enough of that.

I'll be updating a lot more frequently now. The only days I'm ever obligated to do something is on Tuesday and Wednesday I have to go back to Tampa for work/research labs. Which isn't going to be too awful.

Here are some goofy photobook pictures of two girls from Tampa I'll miss the most and my lovely kitty basking in the summer sun!
